GetYourGuide for Lan Ha Bay
GetYourGuide was founded in 2009 in Zurich and has been based in Berlin since 2012. It now lists more than 200,000 activities worldwide. Each listing names its "activity provider", which is often an agency rather than the cruise line.
For Lan Ha, GetYourGuide is the platform with the most choice. It sells overnight cruises, 3-day trips combined with Ninh Binh, Cat Ba day boats, plankton evenings, deep-water solo climbing, Viet Hai cycling and transfers. Many of its best-reviewed cruises are sold by agencies under generic titles. Several Lan Ha brands are sold under their own names too, including Elite of the Seas, Venezia, Celina of the Sea and Taliya.
Most listings allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before, and some offer "reserve now, pay later". The exact window is shown on each listing.
Klook for Lan Ha Bay
Klook was founded in September 2014 in Hong Kong. It filed in November 2025 to list its shares in New York; as of mid-October 2026 that offering had not been priced. It reports around 310,000 offerings in about 4,200 destinations.
For Lan Ha, Klook is the platform that sells cruise brands under their own names: Peony, Capella, Mon Chéri, Rosy, Erina, Doria, La Regina, La Pandora, Aspira, Azura, Hera and others. It shows how many people have booked each activity, for example "10K+" on the Tropical day cruise and "6K+" on Aspira. It is weaker on Cat Ba activities.
Klook sets cancellation per activity: many allow free cancellation until a stated deadline, some do not. Its rewards are now called KlookCash; you can use them once you hold at least 10, by ticking KlookCash under Discount at checkout.
Which is cheaper for the same ship
On 16 October we compared the lowest "from" price for 18 ships sold on more than one platform (the same trip length on each). Klook was cheapest for 10, GetYourGuide for 4 and Trip.com for 4. Like-for-like examples:

Some low prices are not the same product. A few of the cheapest GetYourGuide entries for a brand are day trips or a different route, and La Regina's cheapest GetYourGuide product is its Bai Tu Long ship, not the Lan Ha one. Viator and Trip.com
Trip.com belongs to Trip.com Group, which started as Ctrip in 1999 and is listed in New York and Hong Kong. For Lan Ha it lists some ships nobody else sells in English, such as Stellar of the Seas, Lyra Grandeur, Indochine and Halora Nova, plus catamaran day cruises. Review counts are low so far, so treat it as the third place to check. Today it is the cheapest for Taliya and Mon Chéri.
Viator is owned by Tripadvisor and offers "reserve now, pay later" on most products. One Lan Ha ship, Le Théâtre, is booked through Viator from its own website. We do not compare Viator prices on this site.
What to watch on both platforms
- Generic titles. On GetYourGuide, read the activity provider and ask for the ship name before you pay; on Klook, check that the brand on the title is the ship in the photos. Our operators overview lists sister ships and renamed brands.
- "Ha Long" products on Lan Ha searches. Several Klook products are Ha Long or Bai Tu Long routes (Starlight, Signature, Sunlight Legend, Cozy Bay's overnight ship). Look for named Lan Ha stops.
- Old reviews. Taliya opened in February 2025; reviews older than that on any Taliya listing belong to an earlier product. See the Taliya review.
- Storms. The authorities, not the cruise line, stop sailings. A refund then follows the listing's own terms, so free cancellation is worth paying a little more for between June and November.
- "6-star". Both platforms carry "6-star" titles. Vietnam's official ratings stop at 5 stars and are voluntary.
Our recommendation
Use Klook when you already know the brand you want, especially La Pandora, Azura, Aspira or a Cozy Bay Tropical day trip. Use GetYourGuide when you are still choosing, when you want a Cat Ba day boat or activity, or when free cancellation up to 24 hours matters more than a few dollars. Compare Trip.com for Taliya, Mon Chéri and ships the others do not sell. For ships with no platform listing, the largest English-language agency is reviewed in HalongBayTours.com.
