Azura Cruise is listed as a Halong Bay cruise, but after boarding at Tuan Chau in Ha Long it sails to Lan Ha: the afternoon is at Ao Ech (Frog Lake) and the morning at the Dark and Bright caves. The verdict: the most complete new-build in this price band, with an honest all-inclusive fare, and much cheaper on Klook than direct. Its only real weakness is age: under a year of reviews.

The ship and cabins

Azura's official cabin plan lists 30 cabins, all with a bathtub with a sea view and a private balcony or terrace:

Cabin Count Size Deck Outdoor space
Baylight Suite 12 (6 twin, 4 double, 2 triple) 34 m² 1st floor private balcony
Horizon Suite 16 (7 twin, 7 double, 2 triple) 34 m² 2nd floor private balcony
Imperial Suite 2 66 m² 2nd floor terrace with two loungers, private sauna

King beds measure 2 m × 2.2 m. On board there is a 12 m four-season infinity pool, a 265 m² restaurant, the Sol & Sea sky bar, a spa with sauna, a gym and a sundeck.

The site calls Azura both "six-star" and "five-star". Neither is an official rating: Vietnam's star system for cruise ships is voluntary, goes up to five, and no Lan Ha ship has a confirmed official decision. Hull material and ship length are not published; ask if they matter to you.

Sister ship. Azura shares its Hanoi office, hotline, Tuan Chau lounge (No. 38) and itinerary wording with Aspira, a 22-suite ship. Azura is the newer and larger of the two.

The route: Lan Ha Bay from Tuan Chau

Azura boards at No. 38, Tuan Chau International Port. A speedboat takes you to the ship, then it sails to Lan Ha for the afternoon at Ao Ech (Frog Lake, a sheltered lagoon area) and an overnight at anchor. Day 2 starts at the Dark and Bright caves (hang Sáng – hang Tối). The 3D2N version adds Viet Hai, a car-free village inside Cat Ba National Park (our Viet Hai guide).

Azura Cruise price: direct vs Klook vs Trip.com vs GetYourGuide

Official 2D1N prices per person: Baylight $380, Horizon $516, Imperial $780. The 3D2N starts at $760. The fare includes the cabin, a welcome drink, two bottles of water per guest, two lunch buffets, a set dinner and a breakfast buffet, sunset tea, kayak or bamboo boat, squid fishing, cooking class, tai chi, karaoke, pool and Jacuzzi, gym, Wi-Fi, guide, sightseeing tickets, service charge and VAT. It excludes the shuttle, spa, tips and other drinks.

That VAT line matters: Aspira's direct price excludes VAT and Azura's includes it, so compare totals rather than headlines.

Klook is clearly cheapest today: Azura 2D1N from $176, rated 5.0 from 449 reviews with 2,000+ booked. Trip.com lists Azura from $203 with one review. GetYourGuide's listing tagged as Azura is titled "2-Day Halong Bay Cruise with 6 Star Cruise" and costs from $309 with no reviews yet: check the ship name in that listing before paying. Platform prices are the cheapest cabin on the cheapest date, and cabin type and shuttle may differ.

What travelers say

Azura scores 5.0 from 449 reviews on Klook. A perfect score is common in a ship's first year, when everything is new; give it time before treating it as proof of long-term standards. HalongBayTours.com lists Azura from $205 with no score yet. When you read reviews, look at the cabin type, whether the guest kayaked or took the bamboo boat, and how the speedboat transfer at Tuan Chau went.

How to book and cancel

Azura publishes no cancellation or child policy online. If you book direct, ask for both in writing: on Lan Ha ships, direct cancellation fees often start 14–45 days out and reach 100% inside 7 days, and children usually pay 75% from about age 4 or 5. On Klook, cancellation rules are shown on each listing, which is the practical reason to book there. Bring your original passport, as operators register every guest.

Expect gala-dinner surcharges on 24 and 31 December and at Tết, the Lunar New Year. See how to book a Lan Ha cruise and GetYourGuide vs Klook.
